## What a customer is

A customer is a receiver of your webhooks (a company or user of your service). Endpoints belong to a customer, and the API addresses messages by Customer ID. If you only forward webhooks from other services to your own server, register your own company as the customer.

## Add a customer

1. Select a project and environment, then open Customers in the menu.
2. Select + Add customer.
3. Enter the ID used in your own system (e.g. `cus_1024`) in Customer ID.
4. Optionally enter a Display name, then select Add.

A Customer ID can be used only once per environment. Add customers separately in live and test. Next, add an [endpoint](https://webhookadmin.com/en/docs/guide/endpoints/).

## What the list shows

Name, Customer ID, number of endpoints and the date added. Select Load more to see more.

## Delete a customer

1. Select Delete on the row.
2. Type the Customer ID to confirm, then select Delete.

This deletes the customer’s endpoints, signing secrets and sources. Customer portal links stop working right away, and deliveries not yet sent are not sent. This cannot be undone.
