## Required role and plan

- **Create an organization**: Anyone who is signed in (up to 2 Free organizations per person)
- **Create a project**: Admin or higher
- **Rename the organization**: Admin or higher
- **Delete a project or the organization**: Owner only

## Organizations, projects and environments

| Unit | What it is |
| --- | --- |
| Organization | Your company or team. Plans, billing and members belong to the organization. |
| Project | One for each service that sends webhooks. Your plan sets how many you can create. |
| Environment | Each project has a live and a test environment. Customers, endpoints, API keys and so on are separate per environment. |

| Environment | API key | Messages |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Live | `sk_live_…` | Count toward the monthly limit and billing |
| Test | `sk_test_…` | Not billed (up to 1,000 a day per environment, including test sends). Endpoints may use http URLs |

## Create an organization

1. The first time you sign in, Create organization appears. For another one, choose + New organization in the switcher at the top left.
2. Enter your company or team name in Organization name and select Create organization. You can rename it later.

You become the Owner of the organization. New organizations start on the Free plan.

## Create a project

1. Choose + New project in the switcher (or go to Settings → Projects → Create project).
2. Enter the name of the sending service (e.g. Billing) in Project name and select Create.
3. The live environment of the new project opens.

If you have reached your plan’s limit (Free 1, Starter 3, Pro 10, Business unlimited), a dialog suggests changing your plan. Test environments do not count toward the limit.

+ New project and Create project are shown only to Admin or higher.

## Switch the organization, project or environment

1. Select the top of the left menu (the organization or project name).
2. Choose from Organization, Projects or Environment.

If you switch projects while Messages or Alerts is open, the same screen opens in the other project. While a test environment is open, Test is shown at the top of the screen.

## Rename the organization

1. Open Settings → Organization.
2. Change Organization name and select Save.

The same screen shows the Organization ID, which you can give us when you contact support.

## Delete a project or the organization

1. For a project, go to Settings → Projects and select Delete project. For the organization, go to Settings → Organization and select Delete organization.
2. Type the project or organization name to confirm, then select Delete.

- Deleting a project deletes its live and test environments, endpoints, API keys and message logs. Its API keys stop working right away.
- Deleting the organization deletes all projects, members, invites, alerts, SSO settings and message logs.
- On a paid plan, switch to Free (cancel) first. Organizations on a custom contract (Enterprise) cannot be deleted from the dashboard.
- Neither can be undone.
